Smoke that Meat!

It’s not always easy to bring out / set up the bbq grill. So I use this hack to add a smoky charcoal flavour to any dish.

Take a small piece of charcoal (the real thing, not the brick type you get at the grocery) and heat it up on a gas stove. This will take roughly 10 mins. Shape a piece of foil into a bowl and place it at the centre of the cooked meat / curry (you don’t need the heat on for this). Using tongs place the hot coal into the foil. Pour about 1/2 tsp of oil on the coal. This will release smoke so you’ll need to immediately place a lid on the pan to seal the smoke. After about 15 mins you can remove the coal and enjoy your nice smoky meal 😃 You’d be surprised what a difference this little trick makes to the flavour. It just elevates it to the next level!
