Pasta water

“Pasta water is liquid gold”

I read an article that claimed that, and I couldn’t agree more! Pasta water can be used in many ways. But the main way I use it is to smoothen out my sauce.

I often found that my pasta sauce just wouldn’t coat the pasta well or was just too thick to stick to it. So I just kept adding more sauce. Then I tried this neat trick (and never looked back!)

Once you’ve tossed the boiled pasta in the sauce, add in your reserved pasta water (one tablespoon at a time) and stir to combine. You’ll notice that the sauce starts to coat and cling on to the pasta much better now and the pasta itself looks less dry.

Believe it or not, this tip came from my husband’s research when he offered to cook me a pasta dinner one night 😄
