Adding sour cream to cake batter makes it soooo moist! When I tried this little trick for the first time, it blew my mind! A lot of professional bakers I know use this trick (oops, did I just reveal their secret?!) Oh well… 😁

What’s great about sour cream is that it doesn’t have a lot of water content so it won’t thin out your cake batter. It adds fat content to your cake making it richer, creamier and more moist. For a less fatty alternative, you could substitute this for Greek/thick yoghurt which makes for a slightly fluffier cake.
