Cucumbers for sandwiches

Say NO to soggy sandwiches!

One of my favourite sandwiches with afternoon tea has to be a Cucumber Tea Sandwich. No matter how many other varieties I have in the menu (egg, chicken, roast beef), these are always a crowd favourite! They’re crunchy and fresh. Perfect for a light snack.

Something I never enjoyed about cucumber sandwiches, though, was how it would get soggy if left out for a few hours.

Well, NO MORE!

An easy way to prevent your sandwiches from getting soggy is to pre-drain the cucumbers on a kitchen towel before you layer them in the sandwich. This gets rid of any excess moisture in the cucumber from soaking up in your bread.

Sounds pretty simple, eh? You wouldn’t believe what a big difference this small step can make to the finished product!
