Non-fudgy Chocolate Almond Brownies

For those out there who are not a fan of fudgy brownies, these brownies are more cake-like in texture and not sickly sweet either.

Not-so-sweet Chocolate Almond Brownies

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup plain flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tbsp cocoa

  • 4 oz (½ cup) butter

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • 4 oz almonds

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180C (350F).
  • Grind the almond to a powder.
  • Mix cocoa and softened butter in a bowl until creamy.
  • In a separate bowl mix the flour and baking powder.
  • In a third bowl beat the eggs and sugar.
  • Add the egg mixture to the butter mix and mix.
  • Add the dry ingredients (flour mix and almonds) and mix until you get a smooth batter. Do not over beat.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan, cover with almonds chunks, and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Cool on a wire rack.

Notes

  • If you like your nuts chunky, don’t grind into a fine powder.
