Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour

  • ½ cup semolina (sooji)

  • ½ cup wheat flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 6-8 green cardamom (ground)

  • 1 cup ghee or oil

  • water to bind

Directions

  • Mix all  dry ingredients.
  • Add the melted ghee/oil and mix well.
  • Add water in small portions and kneed well. The more you kneed the better it will be. The dough should be soft like pastry dough.
  • Cover and set aside for an hour.
  • Portion into smaller dough balls and roll into a thin, even circle.
  • Cut out small rounds using a cookie cutter.
  • Deep fry on medium until golden brown.
  • Serve with Rice Kheer.

Notes

  • After step 6, you can also add sweet fillings (semolina halwa or mixed, lightly fried dry fruits), seal ends, and deep fry.
