Aloo Qatli

This is a great 30-minute, easy-to-cook, delicious recipe. Tastes best with chapati.

Potato (Aloo) Qatli

Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes (cut in wedges)

  • 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)

  • 2-3 red chilli (aka mundu chilli)

  • ½ tsp cumin (whole)

  • 2 green chillies

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • salt to taste

Directions

  • Heat oil in pan and fry onions till golden brown. Set aside.
  • In medium-hot oil add the cumin and red chilli. Fry for a few minutes and then add potatoes.
  • Sprinkle salt to taste, cover and leave on low heat.
  • About 15 minutes later, add the green chillies.
  • When the potatoes are done (nearly 20-25 minutes), uncover and leave to cool off for a bit.
  • Sprinkle lemon juice and fried onions.
