Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce 🌯
I used boneless chicken thighs and marinated it for a good 3 days. Came out super tender. Fresh veggies add a nice crunch.

1kg boneless chicken thighs
1 cup greek yogurt
1 tsp fresh dill
1 tsp parsley (optional)
½ tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp lemon zest
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 cucumber (chopped)
½ tomato (chopped)
½ onion (chopped)
french fries (aka chips)
6 greek-style pitas
Directions
- To the (uncut) chicken thighs add greek yogurt, fresh dill, parsley (optional), dried oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. Set in the fridge to marinate for a few hours or overnight.
- Heat a little oil in a pan and cook the chicken (uncovered) for 15-20 minutes (until golden from each side). If you have a grill or BBQ to cook the chicken, EVEN BETTER!
- Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce.
- Chop the tomato, cucumber, and onion.
- Prepare the fries (I usually air-fry these).
- Toast the pitas in a frying pan.
- Spread a layer of the tzatziki sauce on the pita.Â
- Layer with chicken, chopped vegetables and fries.
- Wrap and enjoy!
