I’m Maliha, a Pakistani soul settled in the beautiful, vibrant city of Sydney, Australia. By profession, I navigate the world of software products as a Product Manager, but my heart is happiest in the kitchen.
I started this blog in 2008 as a way to share my mom’s recipes with close friends and family. What started as a necessity quickly turned into a desire to share what I’ve learned (and continue to learn); with the simple idea to make home-cooking approachable and fun for everyone.
I hope you enjoy reading and trying my recipes as much as I do sharing them!
How It All Started
Cooking isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a journey that began with my earliest memories, watching my mom work her magic with spices and flavours. While I didn’t exactly whip up gourmet meals as a child, I was right there by her side, soaking up every little kitchen secret she shared. From the perfect pinch of spices to the art of kneading dough just right, I learned it all from the master herself.
From those cherished moments, I embarked on my own culinary adventure, experimenting, learning, and occasionally burning a dish or two (we’ve all been there, haven’t we?).
Dirty Apron Recipes became my canvas for food experiments, my outlet for sharing the joy that cooking brings me every single day.
