baking paper?

“Can’t I just grease the pan?”
…well sure, you can. But is that enough?

While greasing a pan with butter or grease spray helps prevent your cake from sticking to the pan, it cannot replace the need for baking paper. The non-stick quality of baking paper helps prevent cakes from cracking or breaking when lifting them off the sheet. Yes, I did say “lift”. Honestly, I don’t think I could ever go back to the stress of flipping a cake out onto a plate and flipping it back over onto a platter. 😓

Baking paper is heat-resistant so it helps bake the cake/cookie more evenly and also reduces the chances of it burning. Pretty nifty!

If that wasn’t enough to convince you, another neat tip is to use it to decorate or wrap your home-baked goods. A fresh pound cake wrapped in baking paper and tied up with string makes for a great (very presentable) home-baked gift.

What are your thoughts and experiences with using baking paper?
