For the longest time, I had no clue what the various stand mixer attachments were for. I just always ended up using the whisk attachment for everything because it looks the most similar to my handheld electric beater. Turns out, each one serves a different purpose. WHO KNEW?! 😬 🙈

Stand mixers typically come with the following three attachments:
- Flat beater: this is used for mixtures/batters with a heavy consistency; like cakes, frosting, cookies, biscuits.
- Balloon whisk: when you need to incorporate air into a mixture to make it lighter. Typically used for whipping eggs, egg whites, whipping cream, light cake sponges, meringues.
- Dough hook: to knead dough for bread, buns, pizza, pasta, rolls.
Happy baking! 😀
