Got this recipe out of my mom’s Betty Crocker recipe book. So easy to make that even Aamir can make it 😀
Italian Chicken Casserole

1 cup boneless chicken (cut in strips)
½ cup tomato paste
1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
1 tsp pepper
½ tsp chilli powder
3 eggs (2 – hard boiled, 1 – raw)
¾ tsp mustard paste
½ tsp garlic
1 tbsp flour
1 capsicum (sliced)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp oil
2 cups elbow macaroni
½ cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup white sauce
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Boil the macaroni.
- Prepare the white sauce.
- Heat oil in a pot and fry onions till golden brown.
- Add chicken and garlic, and fry for a few minutes.
- Add flour, salt and pepper, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chilli powder and capsicums.
- Add enough water to cook the chicken and leave a little gravy.
- Grease a casserole dish.
- Add the chicken mixture in the dish.
- Arrange boiled eggs in a layer on top of that.
- Then spread out the macaroni on top of that.
- Then pour the chicken mixture on top of that again.
- Pour white sauce all over to cover it completely.
- Sprinkle grated cheese.
- Beat an egg and spread on the top.
- Dot with butter.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
