An easy recipe for Maash ki Daal. Best served with Beef Kofta Curry and Sweet Chutney.

½ cup urid/maash daal
1 tbsp ginger (julienned)
2 dry red chilli (whole)
⅓ tsp salt
1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
¼ cup oil/ghee
¼ cup fresh mint leaves
2 cups water
Directions
- Wash the daal.
- In 2 cups of water add the daal and dry red chillies.
- Boil until the daal is cooked and drain.
- Add ginger and salt to the daal.
- Mix and cook (covered) on very low flame for 5-10 minutes.
- Fry the onions in oil until golden.
- Pour the fried onions and the oil into the daal.
- Garnish with fresh chopped mint.
- Serve with Beef Kofta Curry.
