Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken

  • 1 + ½ tsp salt

  • 3-4 tbsp vinegar

  • ¾ cup yogurt

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 2 tsp mixed spice

  • 1½ tbsp lemon juice

Directions

  • Cut the chicken in 4 pieces.
  • Marinate the chicken in 1 tsp salt and vinegar for at least an hour.
  • Heat oil in a wok and add chicken. Deep fry on high till golden (do not completely cook the chicken).
  • Mix remaining spices in yogurt.
  • Dip the fried chicken pieces in the yogurt mix.
  • Add to a pan. Cover and steam cook till the chicken is tender. This can take about 20-30 mins.
  • Remove the lid and dry out any water.
  • Serve with white rice and steamed vegetables.
