Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef mince

  • 2 tsp ginger & garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 4 red chilli (whole)

  • 1 tsp cumin (whole)

  • 1″ ginger (julienned)

  • 2 tsp dry-roasted ground coriander

  • 1½ tsp dry-roasted ground cumin

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 2 tsp red chilli flakes

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala powder

  • 1½ tsp salt

  • 3-4 onions (finely chopped)

  • 4 green chillies (finely chopped)

  • coriander leaves (finely chopped)

  • mint leaves (finely chopped)

Directions

  • Heat oil and fry ginger until translucent.
  • Add cumin and red whole chilli.
  • Add beef mince and cook for 5 minutes until the colour changes.
  • Add ginger & garlic paste. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
  • When half done, add dry spices. Continue to cook on low heat for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Take off the heat and add remaining finely chopped onions, green chillies, coriander and mint leaves.
  • To prepare the baghaar, mix dry-roasted cumin (aka bhuna zeera), dry-roasted ground coriander, red chilli flakes, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
  • Add the baghaar to the mince mix.
